There lie points along a river's progress where water must transition from the quiet and calm of a comfortably sleepy and peaceful pond and pass over frighteningly bumpy terrain in order to progress onward in its journey.
This scene of a rocky break in this little river may be seen as a point of transition where water must leave the easy, familiar, quiescence of a peaceful, shady pond, to stumble, tumble and churn in chaos over obstacles in order to move forward and continue in blind faith its journey to the sea. Some of the breaks the river encounter will be more treacherous than others, but no matter the turbulence and challenges, it is the river’s mission to move ever forward until it will ultimately rejoin the sea.
What lies ahead of this moment is unknown, but we may do well to see the beauty and grace even in the turbulent transition.
